The Social Club, Mülheim

Pam – my wife – said “Jackpot?!?“  to me, when I found that page. I first found a list of English groups, theaters, institutions and doctors on www.foodfromhome.de, second I found the page of ‘The Social Club’ in Mülheim an der Ruhr which offers more interesting links. The rest of this article will cover ‘The Social Club‘.

• The Social Club has a hidden website. It is on that still existing (really!) Geocities site. You better google for it.
• The Social Club’s website is uptodate. They have a schedule for 2009.
• The Social Club meet either at a club name Feldmann-Villa or at a pub named Hopfensack.
• The Social Club meets on the Second Friday of each month.
• The Social Club is open to native speakers and people who have fun to speak English (see website).

British Movies at the Cinemaxx in Mülheim

Yesterday I wrote about the “Very British” festival at the Rhein-Ruhr-Zentrum shopping mall in Mülheim. The festival also contains at least two English movies per day at the Cinemaxx cinemas there. Here is a list of the movies in English language between July 2nd and 11th:

• Dead Poets Society (3pm on July 11th; 6pm on July 2nd,7th; 8pm on July 5th, 10th)
• The Queen (3 pm on July 5th; 6pm on July 4th, 6th, 10th; 8pm on July 2nd, 4th, 8th)
• The Full Monty (6pm on July 3rd, 8th, 11th; 8pm on July 6th, 9th)
• Notting Hill (6pm on July 5th, 9th; 8pm on July 3rd, 7th, 1th)
